Newcastle is the next stop on the UK Space Agency's Space for Everyone Tour! We’re landing in Times Square.

Join us to discover the important role of space in our everyday lives and dive into the vast array of space-related jobs in the UK space industry. The best part is the tour is completely free and there’s no need to book in advance. 

Simply turn up within the opening hours and immerse yourself in the endless possibilities of space!

Here’s how you can get to the tour by foot, rail, and car:

By Foot:
  • Start at your current location and head towards the Life Science Centre in central Newcastle.
  • Look for the main entrance of the science centre in Times Square.
  • Join us at the Space for Everyone Tour!
By Rail:

The nearest underground station to Times Square is St James, which is approximately a 10-minute walk away.

  • Start your journey by exiting St James Station, which is located in Newcastle upon Tyne.
  • Head south on Neville Street: Once you’re outside the station, turn south onto Neville Street. You’ll be walking in the direction away from the city center.
  • Continue onto Westgate Road: After walking along Neville Street, continue onto Westgate Road. Keep following this road as it leads you westward.
  • Turn left onto Clayton Street West: When you reach the intersection, turn left onto Clayton Street West.
  • Walk straight on Clayton Street West: Continue walking straight on Clayton Street West for approximately 300 meters.
  • Arrive at Times Square: You will arrive at Times Square, which is located at the western gateway to Newcastle City Centre on Railway Street. Here, you’ll find various shops, amenities, and the Times Square Car Park, which is owned and operated by the Centre for Life.
By Car:

For those traveling by car, follow directions to reach Times Square:

Times Square Car Park, owned and operated by the Centre for Life, is a multi-story car park that offers safe parking facilities. It is located at the western gateway to Newcastle City Centre on Railway Street, with a Sat Nav reference NE1 4AD.

The sat nav reference for the car park is NE1 4AD (opposite Leonardo Hotel – formerly Jurys Inn). Look out for Centre for Life and/or Times Square Car Park signage to direct you.

Please note that specific directions may vary depending on your starting point, and it’s always advisable to check for any road closures or traffic updates before setting off on your journey.

As you explore the tour, you will have the opportunity to engage in various hands-on activities. The tour aims to inspire curiosity and educate visitors about the wide range of opportunities available in space, from engineers and coders to space doctors, artists, and more.
